Success!!!

Posted 04-21-2008 at 05:40 AM by BklynCwgrl
I believe I have been on this diet for 3 weeks now. This morning...stark naked, pre-coffee, etc etc...I weighed in at 125 lbs!!! Now that, in fact, is my goal weight. However, I don't FEEL 125 lbs yet. I think I need 5 more lbs. Soooo yesterday I actually ordered another month of nutri systems food.

I realized the other night that most of being on a diet, for me, involves resisting temptation...like snacking at night. I think Saturday night I was DYING for a big bag of popcorn...but resisted.

The breakfasts are the same actually...cereal, juice or fruit, and yogurt. BUT I believe their packets are measured at at 1/2 or 3/4 cup...I never measure.

I often have a salad and lean cuisine for lunch...BUT, here's where my problems start:

I usually work my second job right after my first job. I never have time to eat. So I usually gobble down some junk...like pretzels, peanuts, cookies...stuff like that. And then I get home at like 8:00 and am still hungry...which is when I might have a big bowl of popcorn, pretzels, nuts...mixed together. Or...snack on crackers. Then plop myself into bed, watch TV and fall asleep.

Being committed to this diet, I still don't eat a full dinner...but I manage to eat a piece of chicken/turkey, string cheese, a fruit, AND a nutri systems desert.

So...how do I keep the good work up when I stop the official diet???

I'd like to lose more weight than I need to...that way I can put on a couple of pounds when I start eating "normally" and not freak out. If I can STOP after those couple of pounds...that would be great, wouldn't it?

Sooooooo ... that's all for today folks!!!

Re: Success!!!

congrats!!!!
wow though 125 is only 5 lbs more than me HAHA you're CRAZY SKINNY NOW! (where are the pics?)

suggestion: If you don't 'feel' 125, keep working out with your pilates stuff. The muscle WILL add weight back on but it will be good weight and you'll feel much better because you'll be fitter.

Also as for your work situation and not eating. I'd have a bag of carrots (or something of that nature) with you all the time. The BEST way to stay 'slim' is to eat lots of SMALL meals. Don't just eat at set times, but keep yourself 'not hungry' all day by munching on GOOD stuff (bag of chips doesn't count haha). You may find that it helps you quite a bit with not being hungry when you get home.

great job though!

Re: Success!!!

Yes actually I love carrots...but they aint the same as chips, popcorn, pretzels..or any of that stuff.

I must admit...I haven't worked out in a week! Last week I was too tired after working so many hours...but this weekend...I have no excuse especially since I didn't even RIDE due to the high winds.

Re: Success!!!

Great work, congrats!
maintaining after a diet is mostly a matter of changing your habits and getting in the rhythm of making healthy, sensible choices. I have heard it takes 21 days of consistency to develop a habit....so by the time you go off the nutri-system, you will hopefully be used to eating the kind of healthy meals and smaller portions it provides, and will still eat that way.
Good luck!
