hehe well the title says it all... As heaps of people know, and have given me tonnes of tips with. If you didn't know, I've been having cantering over the jumps issues, here's the thread

Well today with my broken wrist and all, I thought I'd try out cantering over the tiny cross bar that was set up in the arena. It was only 1ft6, I let him go over it once at a really forward trot, then after the jump he cantered.

I kept him in a nice steady canter in a big circle around, then I pointed him at the jump and just sat back in the saddle, didn't move, didn't kick, didn't do anything, just pointed him at the jump at a canter, and kept him going straight, then as he went over i released and only came out of the saddle a little bit (unlike before when i was like nearly 2ft out of the saddle) and sort of lent forward, but I knew i was no where near overjumping.

I was so happy, like I jumped it properly and let him do everything, but that's only over the little cross bar. I asked Alex to hop on and I made the jump a 2ft straightbar, and she was fine cantering over it. Infact she said to me 'What do you mean he doesn't canter over jumps???' hehe he was being such a good boy today

I was pretty happy with myself, and his canter was so nice and steady, no rushing or whatever.
