Lexy and I had a great ride today. She drops her head naturally at both the walk and jog and is starting to collect and slow down. She is so fun to ride! It is pretty amazing to me how well she is doing considering she only has maybe 45 actual rides. I am not expert trainer but I am pretty proud of how we are doing as a team. Well the girls have gotten almost 5 weeks off. Between the pony colicing, KC's pigeon fever and the holidays, I just haven't had time to work with any one.

KC is getting 1 more week because I want to make sure she is 100%. Lexy I worked with yesterday, a little round pen work and some showmanship work. She did great for being off as long as she has. I didn't get to do much with the girls this last weekend. KC has pigeon fever and because the pony is colicing I was only able to ride Lexy 1 time. We did lope for a few steps but it was a pretty slow week on training due to all the other issues at our place. Hopefully over the Thanksgiving weekend we can do some more riding.

Well, I had a great weekend with Lexy. She actually collected for about 4-5 steps! Funny thing is that I didn't expect it, I was just trying to get her to lower her head a bit more and keep the impulsion and it happened. It was awesome and I got her to do it 2 times on Saturday. She was much better about her ears not pinning back and is moving really well off my legs. Still a bit like turning a boat at first, but then she softens up and flexs better.
