Between the baby being born and the horrible wind, not much was accomplished this weekend. The girls all got new shoes on Friday and Saturday, DeDe and Lexy were worked. Both did well, Lexy work on walk and stop refinement/finishing. By the time we were done, she was doing great. I then asked her to trot and go back to the walk and she sorta gets distracted when you ask her to go to another gait. I know that is just because she is 3. Sunday we rode but between the wind and the neighbors...

Both DeDe and Lexy had pretty good weeks. DeDe is setting up like a pro and is starting to not such a spaz when we trot.

Lexy has each gait down pretty good. She even moves from a walk to a lope almost immediately. She was in heat so she was a ****** most of the weekend, fighting me and pinning her ears back. But overall, she did really well. Her lope is even starting to slow down some. We will start working more on the transitions this week and should be starting on the fine...

Well, the barn is done and 1 of the 3 show girls is in it. DeDe was put in the barn under lights this weekend but not worked with since she got a cut on her leg. She was playing out in the pasture with the other 2 and couldn't stop in time and basically went over the fence and somehow cut her leg. It bled alot which helped to clean it out and after some doctoring, I am sure that it won't hardly show at all once completely healed. But in the meantime, only grooming and pampering for her....

Yeah, Lexi and I loped this week! She is getting so much better on consistancy. She jogs and walks straight and remains at the same speed quite well. Not perfect, but give it another month and she will be great! She picked up the left lead very easily, but on the right, she wants to turn quickly into a small circle. She cuts so quickly that I think she will slip and go down. I straighten her out immediately and move off again but she keeps going back to the tight circle at the beginning....

It was so windy today but we rode anyway. KC has another booboo on her so I need to wait alittle longer before she can go back into work .

Lexy did really well considering the weather. I have worked her the last 3 days and she is starting to get more consistant. She has started a bad habit of dropping her inside shoulder. I have to slow back down, straighten her out and start again. I probably need to check to make sure I am balanced that might be part of the problem but I...
