Jordan's Injury***Kinda graphic*** PICS

This is Jordan a 9 yr old OTTB. Yesterday evening we put him in a run next to a horse that he hasn't met yet. We did it so that we could be around them while they were getting to know each other. It seemed that they got over the squealing and smelling and so we thought all was well in horse world. Not so, when I went out at noon to check my mare and turn her out I noticed that Jordan was a little stiff. After closer inspection he has some pretty serious wounds, rug or gym floor type burns, on both back legs. My guess is that he was kicking through the pipe fence and got caught in it. I need advice on what to do. He looks kinda swollen and favors his left more than his right. Which is odd as the left is more beat up looking. HELP!!! Please.

I am planning to take him to the vet but am truckless at the moment. So I am trying to find one to borrow.

JBandRio commented on the other thread that I have about his overabundance of hair. in regards to this new injury.

JB, he just seems stiff will walk and when I was taking pics was moving around. I think he was saying mom even pictures hurt my leg. Don't get close. poor guy.

I would clean it really good. He is going to be stiff there are a lot of wounds. Think about how you feel if you skin up your whole leg. From the pictures they don't look that serious. I would bute him. Bute is an anti inflamatory and he will be in more pain with swelling then without. I still would definatly contact a vet.

Neither legs look like they have anything DEEP -- looks like he did a pretty good job getting the hair and some skin off. Would I personally call a vet if it were MY horse...doubtful. What I would do would be a cold hose and wash it out with Betadine, and apply a Triple Antibiotic topical and keep an eye on it. Any sign of infection, extreme swelling, etc. I'd put a call into my vet and go from there.

Like I said, the above is what I would do in the event it was my personal animal.

Here are a few more pics. I will pry wait to give him anything until the vet sees him. Just to be safe. I will be calling the vet here in a little bit.
Thought this one may show his more sore leg a bit better.

My biggest concern AllAroundRdr, is that he may have gotten actually stuck in between the pipes. In that case there could be other damage, correct? Normally, we treat most things here also. This one is a little different than anything I have seen. Actually just BIGGER. Poor baby. He is soooo sore.
