Congrats! And I totally understanding about spending money on a new horse. lol

You call that fuzzy? You should take a look at my smokey black mare in my gallery. She even has a beard! lol

Those perlinos are much harder to find for some reason and they all seem to cost way more than the cremellos. Congrats again!

Thanks everyone!!!

She is home safe and sound ... finally ... and will meet her new friends tomorrow - 2 yearling WB fillies, a 2 year old TB filly and the goat. So far the 2 year old, who is across the barn aisle from her, has stood and stared at her with ears hard pricked forward, snorting and if she moves, jumping to the back of the stall ... so tomorrow should certainly be fun!

Poor girl - her first trailer ride consisted of 3+ days from Texas to PA, where she overnighted and got to boogey around in the paddock for a day, and then I loaded her up in PA (I dropped Faux Finish off at the same farm) to bring her home ...

For a young filly who spent 3+ days on the trailer, you think she'd look at mine and say "no Way Jose!" but she loaded like a star and got to travel in the big box stall up front in comfort and then 9 hours later when we got home, she stepped off, walked up the driveway with the horses neigh-ing and running up and down, stepped over hoses, and was an angel throughout.

I REALLY REALLY like this filly a lot! We already have some interest from people on embryo's / eggs from her next year so will be interesting to see where her target market may lay ...

Thanks again!

She's actually got a really pretty head on her - even for a perlino! Most of the time, they are not what you'd call "attractive" heads but GG's is beautiful (even with those ice blue eyes) and hers is very pretty and refined, so between the pair of them, they should produce pretty kids as well!

Well - as she is just a yearling this year, we are going to let her grow up for awhile!

I am looking into the collecting of eggs from her for next year, so that will probably be part of what she does next year, but for this year - just eating and sleeping and hanging out with her friends!

Oh I'd say Mac n Cheese is worth it for her, and wayyyyyyy better than new towels!!! I wouldn't worry unless it was cat food LOL

Congrats on the new girl, she is beautiful, and very pleased to hear she's made such a great arrival.

Right - remember the mane/tail are double diluted from black, so they tend to retain a bit of a pinkish-reddish/orangish tint to them.

I cannot wait to see real pictures of her! She sounds just beautiful

btw - a box of mac-n-cheese cooked, added to 2 small or 1 large can of tuna, makes a great, relatively healthy casserole

JBandRio - yeah - thats the part I DO need to remember! That her mane, tail and "black" points on her legs compliments of the bay gene are still there - just very very muted, so her legs have these gold stockings on them and her mane and tail are a definate "pewter" colour!

I am going to wait for several more weeks til I take and post pictures of her. She did lose weight from the trip, and she is furry like a grizzly bear! So I'd rather wait before posting anything 'til she looks a lot better. But on the good news side she EATS like a bear as well, and the hair is coming out in hunks, so she should be presentable in no time flat!
