Oreo's sire must have carried the grey gene. He may have looked like a blue roan, but his daughter definitely got it and her dam does not. She got it from one parent, and that would be the sire.

So any of Oreo's foals will always have 50/50 of being grey or not, no matter what you breed her to.

So there's a 50% chance that the baby will be grey, and if it's not grey, it could be many other things depending on what her base color is and what genes the sire has. Buckskin, palomino, bay, chestnut are probably all possibilities.

I was just trying to start a game to see if anyone

Please don't be offended-- your OP said-- "So when do you all think she will foal? what's she going to have? & what color is it going to be?" and I think some of us were trying to honestly help determine what all the color possibilities might be by observing and asking questions!

Its pretty hard, when you are familiar with color genetics, to be asked "what color will it be?", (even for "fun") and NOT to try and map all the possibilities out, LOL.

OH-- if the sire was blue roan AND grey on top of that, that adds the possibility of roan (with whatever base color) in there too-- so add a 50/50 chance of roan--LOL

So I am going to guess and say I think she will have a palomino roan solid filly the day after Thanksgiving. Then, since mom is Oreo, you can name the filly Vanilla Sugar Cookie--LOL

Well, if you get the color Eastowest predicts, Nilla Wafer would work for a name too,lol. I think no matter what you will get a nice little one, I can't wait to see what color or combonation you do get, please keep us updated!

I want to say i'm sorry over my post i didn't
mean to get ticked off. i've had alot going on lately
and i geuss i'm alittle testy at times.
how ever it did seem like everyone wanted to dna code and i
just wanted everyone to be able to have fun with this.

just need to get used to it.
but heck if we can do a color chart with color codeing babies.
i have 2 more mares due in march. and i have both their papaers with blood line colors, and dads too for that matter.

well here it is the 7th and she is just eating and getting bigger.
hubby says he thinks she has another month.
she is showing no signs of even thinking about getting ready to let us see this baby.
i'll get some updated pics today when i go back out.
i don't think she will go another month. i may be wrong but i think she will hold out toward the end of the month anyways.
my 8 yo daughter is asking her to go Nov,20 which is her birthday we'll see.
