Talking Its a filly....

One of the horses at our barn gave birh to a filly around midnight on wednesday. The mom is a buckskin with black mane and tail. Very nice looking. I don't know anything about the sire. The filly is a palomino color with a blaze and her back feet/ankles are white. I took tons of pictures. I will post them when i get them back. The filly doesn't have a name yet. I don't want to post the mom's name on here..just in case the horse's owner sees this(i don't think they will ...who knows).

The mom is very protective of her baby. She does not like it when the ponies from the field next store stick there heads over the fence to check out the new addition.

The mom let me pet her filly. Which was really cool b/c she does not let anyone else touch her. I think i have a special connection with this mare and her filly. Im going to ask my trainer if I can work with the mare and filly....touching them, hand walking them around the field..etc.. *I wan a project of my own* hehe

Today when i was at the barn, my trainer and her friend were working on the fences in the field so that the baby couldn't excape out of the field. In the field they have a run in shed that has alot of straw in there for them to sleep in. At one point i was watching the baby cantering around the run in with mom..Mom was walking next to her. It was so cute to watch!

Alright i think i said enough about mom and filly.
Stay Tuned for photos.

Cool! I love pictures of foals!!! I have a palomino gelding born last Febuary. So, I'm a little partial to Palominos, although I was hoping my mare would have a Buckskin!!!
