It's A Boy!

Yeah, Belle had a beautiful little buckskin colt early this morning (12:06 am). I missed most of the birth, woke up to find the little guy already out but only a few minutes old. Belle is a fabulous mother! For being a maiden, everything went perfect and she knew exactly what to do. She doesn't like nursing (I was concerned about that) but she lets him do it anyway, just squeals every now and then. I have pictures that I will upload.

He is a gorgeous buttermilk buckskin color. I think he is stunning!

Anyway, I just had to share since I am so excited!

Yes, it is my mare, not the Clydesdale. I am working on the pictures right now. I still can't believe how light he is! I knew that there was a good chance of a buckskin (Belle's sire is palomino;Dusty's sire is buckskin)

Anyway, working on the pictures!

Belle is chestnut, Dusty is black or maybe brown (looks black but we are doing DNA to confirm his color).

Ok, I am having a heck of a time getting the pictures to upload. Anyone have any other suggestion other then using the upload on the forum? I know that you can do it some how with photobucket but I have never done that before.

I am dying for you guys to see the colt, he is an amazing color, seriously, he is buttermilk!

Ahhh. Then NO chance of buckskin unless somebody's color is wrong. :-) So either baby is not buckskin... or Dusty is either a dark buckskin or a smokey black. Based on what you've said about baby and Dusty I'm betting Dusty is a smokey black. That would explain why his color is confusing (black, no brown, no black, LOL).

Buttermilk babies rule. Go to Photobucket... you'll figure it out. :-)
