I NEED to get some fencing done...and one place where I need to fence has ALOT of grass, but it has the same amount if not more itch weed in there!

My question is-Is itch weed bad for horses health?

What is that? Poison ivy? If so, then it is no harm to horses at all. Unless itch weed is something totally different..?

No, it is the same as poisin ivy I think....I will go check!
When you say it is no harm, does that just go for alittle amount...cause we have about 1/2-1 acre full of it!
**EDIT**
I don't think it is the same as poisin ivy....I will try to go get some pictures of it...and let you guys tell me

Horses can eat poison ivy, the plant does not affect horses like it does with humans. Horses will not develop hives from touching or ingesting the plant. They do enjoy the taste.

Poison Ivy. It is a weed and it itches. I'm guessing it is the same thing.
Humans are the only 'animal' that are affected by poison ivy.

Three leaves. You know the saying, "leaves of three, let it be".

Poison Ivy won't bother the horses BUT ... the oil will get into the horse's body through ingestion and then be excreted through the pores of the skin so when YOU touch your horse, YOU can get the poison ivy. Might want to keep him away from it. On the other hand, Poison Ivy is also a healing herb for some animals and may help the horse with allergies he might have. He may just be "self-medicating" as animals will do.
