Is This Normal???

My pregnant mare is due shortly, and is starting to bag up. However, her teats are FULL, but her bag really isn't all that big. Is this normal/ok?

Do you have a bit more info? like when she is due, and is she a maiden mare.. please.. if you could, then we may be able to answer more accurately.

She is not maiden, and I have no idea when she bred, she's a rescue mare. From what we've been able to put together, she's due April-May, but we're not sure. We believe she's 16-18 yrs old. She's on 10% sweet feed, and orchard grass/alfalfa hay.

I'm not sure what else to put, so if you need any more info just ask!

I think its normal to just have swelling in that area anyway, either the teats or the udder. Breeze will fill up high, but not down in her teats, then another day she will fill her smaller bag down low, (udders) and the upper bag will be smaller. I think it fluctuates until they actually deliver. One thing I will say that I have learned is that every mare has a different way of doing things, no matter if its their first time or their 4th.. I think thats what makes it hard to really compare or go by any list of "signs". Every list I have read says.. "not every mare does all of these some do none at all.. " there is no rhyme nor reason. Just watch her I guess is the best way, and noticing anything "different" or out of the ordinary for her, not compared to others.. There are some great sites with ideas and signs.. if you would like me to post them.
