Is this horse ^^^ a chocolate palomino?? I am unfamiliar with them and I dont see it. If it is, can someone explain what makes it a chocolate palomino?

A chocolate palomino is a palomino with a darker coat. It's basically a liver chestnut with a creme gene. Yes, I think that boy is a chocolate palomino, though he could just be sorrel with no color crossing his mane/tail and therefore making them white.

Well... according to it's pedigree it's a chestnut. A Palomino has to have a dilute parent. Unless it's sire is a smokey black then it could be a Paly.

Where the white is is making it's mane and tail white. Maybe that's why they thought it was a Paly?

Nevermind... I just looked at the sire's dam and it's a Perlino... so sire is definately a smokey black...

That answered my question. Thank you all. I am not familiar but I thought it literally involved a cream gene and I didnt see where the gene was coming from. Guess if I had looked one name farther back in the pedigree I would have seen the perlino.

Next question, what can he throw color wise? I am not looking to breed to him, but I am curious about the colors.

Depends on what he is bred to He can only pass on red, and one or no creme genes.

So its just like breeding to a normal palomino? Is chocolate palomino just a darker palomino? Or a different type of cream gene?
