He'd certainly be welcome in my barn any day. Regardless of his get lacking speed for the long hauls. Cross him with some fast QH and you'd get some great Barrel horses!

QH came from TBs and there's quite a few that are real chunky compared to what you think of as a TB. Kind of like a lot of breeds, not just one type

All a QH is, is a TB with a new name. (and a few more directions of bloodlines when you look at some lines of QH's)

I recognized him immediatrly before I even read anything. It would be hard for most racing afficionados not to recognize him. I have NO problem with discussing a horse of this stature here. I don't think anything can be said that hasn't already been said before, not to mention, it's not like any harm can be done to him or his owners now. (Of course I also feel any stallion being advertised is put open for critique by its owner, but I'll follow the rules...) I think the only reason people say he has perfect conformation is because of his ability. There is no question now that people in the stock horse world look for very different things than those that aren't. I feel exactly the OPPOSITE of everything that was said by the stock horse people here. He was still over at the knee in the racing photo (though properly trimmed feet could help). I don't feel he is anywhere near close to being severe though. I notice alot of racehorse, especially Quarter Horses, are a bit over at the knee and it seems to help them get out of the gate and such. I do personally feel that his hocks are a little straight for my taste and his croup is a bit steep. His shoulder is steep and his neck is still low. His topline is lacking a little IMO too. That being said, I feel the stock horse people are looking at him as a halter type, not a performance type. He very much fits the mold of a typical Impressive-bred halter horse who IMO has all the faults I pointed out above and usually make terrible performance horses. This particular horse performed despite his conformation, not because of it. Of course that being said, I adore him and always have. ACC |

Wow! That is incredible how different he looks here than when he was older. His neck looked incredibly thick in the older pictures, but much better here. I had never thought about the muscles sagging that would give his neck that effect, but that does make sense.

| Senior Member+ | Why do the HUS QH's look like TBs? You'd be surprised at how chunky some of these TB stallions can get as they stop being exercised and spend hours and hours in lush pastures Here are some more famous TB stallions at stud (extra credit for anyone who can name them WITHOUT cheating by looking at the picture properties ![]()

They do tend to get fat and flabby when retired to stud... My friend has a great grand daughter of his, she looks just like him, but opposite white socks on the front legs....she's a huge georgious mare..Cathy
