So true AA! The same with the TB racehorses. I look at some of the Golden Oldies and think "wow, THAT was a great racehorse?" LOL

as for the question, someone thought he was because I have two descendants of his. But based off of his conformation, no, he's not stallion quality. His neck ties in terribly low. But without him I wouldn't have either of my boys.

That'd be Bodi on a diet and with real exercise. .. without diet and exercise he's weighed close into 1300lbs at his fattest. That's a 15.2hh Morgan gelding on pasture. I prefer him around the 1000 mark to 1100 in good shape.

As for foundation QH's... what can I say AA.. Poco Pico or Peco. I saw a picture of that horse with the "marlboro man" in the qh magazine article and would take that bay thing anyday.

Secretariat as a stallion I'd breed to.. I can't say. I don't see perfection and I do see some flaws. Things I don't like. However one thing that doesn't ellude me is that that is a great horse and I love watching programs on him about when he raced.

I haven't read all the posts but I knew this was Secretariat right away.
I love this stallion, really. Although, I am not by any means a conformation expert.
And JBandRio - I knew instantly the first stallion you posted was Storm Cat. I have a Storm Cat grand son.

LOL, there were 2 reasons I picked SC - one, a grandson of Secretariat's through one of his dtrs (broodmare sire thing) and two, because I have a SC granddtr
