| Senior Member+ | Is animal control in order here??
ok.. im talkin to my friend on AIM from my old barn. she says that the horses there are s***. she is a VERY reliable person, and knos whats goin on there. she said that one horse has an abscess, and theyre still usin it for CAMP (thats like 6 lessons a day, plus theres 3 more regular ones AFTER camp!!). she said he can like barely walk. then she said that quite a few have coliced. theres one pony w/ strangles, doubt its quarentined. one horse died earlier this summer from strangles! my friend's horse pulled 2 shoes, and was signed up to ride in a Buck Davidson clinic. the barn owner told her to ride her horse anyway. its a 2 hr long clinic, and she was probbaly very foot sore. there's this one horse who is a really bad kicker. this summer she kicked another horse in the head, and made it go re.tarded! that horse shouldda been gone a LONG time ago. but instead she got rid of a horse that was fine, she just needed work. she didnt kick or bite. plus, 2 winters ago, they had this cute pony. hed come durrin the summer, and he was plump and muscular. the BO had no room in the barn for like 10 school horses, so they lived outside, in a paddock, that had like no grass. durrin the winter all the horses out there started gettin thin (they did get hay), and their feet got long. and this pony was the worst of them all. his feet were too long, and he was REALLY skinny. u could see his ribs and his back bone, and his hips VERY well. we felt soo bad for him. hes better now, but still. she even treats her old advanced event horse like this cuz she's a school horse now. i feel terrible for these horses. they honestly dont care about them. im not there, and what i hear and picture in my head breaks my heart! the BO is like never up there, and the older ppl who work there really dont care about the school horses. boarders, yes; school horses, eff no. i could be dead wrong, but should animal control take a look at all this??

Alot of times you can call animal control and they dont do anything . It gets to be real sticky. Maybe your friend should take pictures and send them on to the barn owner. I dont know what the people are like and not there so its hard to say if that would do any good. Good Luck!
