Talking Introducing Dolbro, brumby colt rescue !LOADS OF PIX!

Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce you all to our little man Dolbro.
He's a brumby colt from the Mudgeeraba area and has been with us for some months now. We decided to take him on as the locals were complaining and the council were going to step in and solve the problem (how??...it scares me to think!).
I took more pix of him today, so i wanted to show everyone his timeline since he's been with us and share how happy i am with the progress he's made.
He's about 2 and half- 3 yrs old, by teeth, and getting the "snip" in the next couple of weeks. When we got him he was poor, bad feet, and bad rain scald.
He really is such a sweetie!....I must say he would have to be the quietest most gentle colt i've ever known!...
So here he is....we plan on selling him on one day which is sad cause i have grown so attached to him!....just can't keep so many horses! lol!

When he first arrived

My hubby starting him...

He really was soooo good....a couple of small pig-roots and that was it!

Out and about!...

TODAY!

Making faces at mummy! .... lol!

OMG He's adorable. The perfect body structure in my opinion, once he got up in health. What a sweet looking boy! Was he a wild Brumby at some point then, or was he bred in some kind of captivity? I should hope not, considering the state he was n when he arrived.

You guys ave done so well with him!

Hello!...Thanks so much! isn't he just so cute! !.....He was born wild, the locals had seen the horses around for yrs and the local council was about to "look into it" as the locals were complaining. When we got him his mum came with him....she was also very poor, BAD club foot etc, etc the list goes on...she needed ongoing treament so we sent her to lovely people in Ipswich to become a lawnmower.

This is her...

She was a cutie....she must have been handled at some stage in her life though as she was nowhere near as timid as she should have been...

Beautiful animals. Clear bright eyes just drilling into you with a silent prayer of thanks ~S~

Can you tell me the basic differences between our western saddles and the Aussie ones? I actually like the looks of the aussie better.

hey there Saddle Trail and thank you!....it's called a swinging fender. I really know very little about western saddles but i have a feeling the cantle and pommel on a swinging fender are much smaller than on a western??....Also they have the knee rolls at the front and no horn....they r alot more compact too i think...not as much skirting as a western so lighter..... hope that helps!....like i said i'm no expert on saddles lol!
