bettybootsy our fencing is equine plastic coated electric high tensile called Hott-Cote . It is very, very safe --no wire injuries.
I never would of guessed. It looked like cable from a far. Thats cool! I'm a electric fence fan myself.

Shezabaydoc,firegurl979,cdpursuit4.. thank you all so much. I wish I could wave a wand and get the weight on her immediatly but I will need to be patient which I am not good at.She really is a pretty girl..much finer boned and high steppin than my Shires. She is quite agile for such a tall gangly too. And smart. She already knows how to get the gate open,,, took my Appy a month to learn that trick..lol

wow what a beauty she is now, I cant wait to see her in perfect health!!

My hubby wants a draft so bad but he is afraid we couldnt afford to feed one. About how much hay does a draft need? Our place has no grass at all so would be a drylot.

My 32 y/o Belgian (17.1/1800lbs) gets about 18 to 20 lbs of good timothy/alfalfa mix hay (80/20) daily. A friend of ours has a 6 year old 19hh Percheron gelding and he gets about the same. The young gelding gets 1lb ration balancer daily to go with, and he's set(old man gets more, but hes ANCIENT). Its a bit more hay than my saddle horses, but its not a huge amount more really--the OTTB often gets the same amount in the winter .

Hey, these two look like twins! Do you ride them or drive them?

My horse, Ice, is a rescue too. But he is a 16 hand paint, just ordinary size.

Thanks to you for rescuing the big ones.

Winky these are our two adopted Shires. The draft horse rescues we have worked with are fabulous. I could not recommend them more highly. Here are my "girls"

They are all beautiful girls, and so lucky to have you. Anna Bella looks like such a sweety. She is going to be a STUNNER when she fills in!

Elisabethm, calypsoscarnivl, lovestrails..thank you so much. We think we are very blessed to have these three beautiful horses come into our lives. We had decided that we wanted to adopt and were surprised to find so many draft horses in need of care, love and homes. If we won the lottery we would have 20 of these magnificent horses here..lol
Thanks again for your comments.
