This one isn't a foreign country one... in fact he gives a number with a Maryland area code. If it didn't cost me to call it, I would. I figured I'd see what came out of my polite, but not highly informative e-mail...

You would think that with all the effort these scammers put into a scam they would do better to just get a job!

They've been doing that too Lucky Duck. I should have mentioned that in my post. They know people have been getting wise to their scams, so they are pretending to be working out of the states as well. Usually what's been happening is they either give you a fake number, not expecting you will call - or some of them have accomplices who are stationed in the States and pretend to be the buyers financial advisor. It's all the same though. It doesn't matter where you attempt to send the cash (via western union), as long as the buyer has the confirmation number, they can redirect where the cash goes.

Well I must have recieved at least 3 e-mail "Deals" from Nigerian based people [Not horsey Deals!]
My growing concern with all this is the understandable reluctance [after all these scams] of people to deal with oversea's buyers,It could be me next year!

I just hope I can convince people when the time comes that I'm a genuine buyer!

That has happened to me too! I was advertising for a lightweight rider for my pony but I had three e-mails from people saying they wanted to buy my pony and could I mail them with my final price.

Yeah like I am going to give them my bank account details for them to deposit the cheque!!!

It is a scam.

Maybe I will try to call the number from work... that way it won't cost me and I'll find out the scoop!

Yeah, its a scam, my friend had a horse on Dream horse and she got all sorts of calls and e-mails, someone even sent her a cashiers check for fifteen thousand dollars, for a five thousand dollar horse!!! The thing was the amount was spelled wrong, they spelled it like ''fivetin tosand dollars'' that was hilarious. Some one even emailed her asking what the lowest she would take on her car for sale, what car?!

She just ignores them all. You have to be careful now a days.

You gotta be careful when somebody does'nt seem interested in your horse and only the price. Alot of times slaughter markets will be out looking for horses to slaughter. They pay about $500.00 per horse. You never know? Sounds fishy to me. Investigate moor.
