World Equestrian Games releases ticket info By Jim Jordan jjordan1@herald-leader.com Related Content World Equestrian Games schedule poster Tickets for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will go on sale in one year — on Sept. 25, 2009, the World Games 2010 Foundation announced Thursday. Prices will be set early next year, the foundation said, but the cheapest reserved seats will cost $25 each. There also will be general admission tickets that will allow visitors to the Kentucky Horse Park to see equine exhibits and demonstrations, visit the trade show and restaurants, and attend competitions, such as endurance and cross country riding, that do not have reserved seats. The tickets will be online at TicketMaster.com. The foundation, which is organizing the Games, has tested the ticketing system by allowing members of the U.S. Equestrian Federation and similar groups in other countries to reserve tickets and make deposits toward the final purchase price, said foundation spokeswoman Amy Walker. About 18 percent of the available tickets were committed to the equestrian groups, leaving "several hundred thousand" tickets for the general public, she said. In comparison, the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 is committing 30 percent of its tickets to the International Olympic Committee and similar groups. The foundation expects to sell more than 600,000 tickets for reserved seats before the World Equestrian Games end on Oct. 10, 2010. Orders are expected from more than 60 countries. The foundation urged those interested in the Games to register at http://www.feigames2010.org to receive news and information about ticket sales, hospitality programs and other events as soon as it becomes available. The Games will determine world championships in eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Fédération Equestre Internationale, or FEI, They are dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, para-equestrian, reining, jumping and vaulting. The Games are held every four years and will be broadcast in 2010 by NBC Sports. _________________ Here is the link for the schedule too : http://media.kentucky.com/smedia/2008/0 ... ate.79.pdf |
