I rode her with a crop for a while too, but eventually she didn't even care that I had that, even if I whacked her hard with it. On her rump or behind my leg. AND she's a halter horse, usually they're more respectful of whips aren't they?! I will get a longer one like a dressage whip though if that will work better.

Lately I have just been riding her with no spurs or whip and she's actually getting a little more responsive.

I don't trust myself with spurs right now, I don't want to feel dependant on them again or dig into her on accident when I don't mean to.

She got her teeth floated a few weeks ago; wouldn't the vet have noticed if there was a blister on the roof of her mouth? If not, how do I check without loosing my hand? lol

When she has a snaffle in her mouth squeeze the rings together behind her chin. She will let you know in a big hurry if it is hurting her.

Okay I will try that tomorrow.

If it is hurting her, what do I do? What bit would be better?

I would try one with no joints. We have one here like that and she will wear anything that is not jointed.
