Riding in the snow I was wondering if it's better for horses to have shoes or go barefoot.

It depends if their sound without shoes. Some horses can't go without shoes cuz of one reason or another.

If your horse can go without shoes with no problems, she should be like that all the time not just in snow. Ideally, you wouldn't use shoes in snow, but if he needs them the rest of the time, he'll need them then.

Okay, Khizzy has shoes on right now but they have to be taken off at the end of November at the latest.. so when we have all our snow on the ground I'm betting she won't have shoes on. She normally doesn't need shoes only on gravel 'cuase it hurts her poor delicate feet wink
