"In style" Equipment?

What equimpent is "in style" or preffered around you & do you have that stuff...
Does anyone have any opinions about riding fads on here?

I personally tend to go with it around here it is
GPA helmets
Tailored Sportsmen
Antaris Saddles
Eskadrons
The whole monogrammed saddle pad thing

I have a gpa, eskadrons, 3 tailored sporstmens, 1 monogrammed saddle pad, and a devoucoux saddle (lol thats close enough to antaris)

BTW it doesnt have to be english stuff, thats just what my stuff is cause i do hunter/jumper

The only thing I have from your list are the Eskadron boots - really cute little Eskadron neoprane over reach boots with sheepskin cuffs to prevent rubbing - I love them

I would love a dressage saddle for Sam and a good little leather saddle for Charlie but I dont have any money at the moment so all I can do is dream!

I'm not sure eskadrons are considered a fad, since they are popular because of the great protection they offer, not their looks. Maybe in hunter jumper it is a fad, but all the jumpers that use them use them for their superior protection. I think the colored shirts in hunter is sort of a fad. That might be out by now lol, I haven't been to a hunter show since last summer

Goodness, I am out of the loop! Don't know what half of these brands are! I guess living out here in the boonies of northern canada makes it tough to keep up with the times. I'm just happy to have 2 saddles (of any kind!) and 2 bridles. For us eventers, Wolff boots used to be all the rage, and of course you MUST have a Tipperary Eventer Vest (I'm like way out of fashion cuz mine is a Casel-Equi ugly old-fashioned chunky thing).

Fad syles, Barf. I saw a thread get ugly over disagreement whether expensive equipment should trump a competant, less affluent horse. I can see meeting an Approximate/ particular look in the showring, but not with actual brand names attached to it. Imagine if that carried over to horses and yours had to be X-bred to win..

I literally laughed out loud. COuldnt agree more. Fancy name brand equipment doesnt make you win prettier ribbons IF you have the money, and it makes you feel like a better/more confident rider go for it I, personally would rather spend my hard earned money on equipment that fits and functions properly, and a few lessons here and there I used to ride Hunt Seat years ago, had an old Steuben saddle that was the BOMB. Comfort is in~Price Tag is out I am not big on name brand anything, in any aspect of life. Then again with 2 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 5 rabbits and children, I cant afford name brand

I dont really pay attention to fads at my barn... I dont know if there are any. But I think its pretty funny that I go to the barn w/ my friend in jeans and everyone else is wearing breaches. I have a few pairs but I dont like to wear them, especially in the winter.
