Wow, he's definately lame/off in that video. Enough so to cause issues with him wanting to move forward.

All through the video. It's very obvious at the beginning. Around 16 seconds there's pronounced head bobbing. Less obvious when he's cantering, but that's to be expected. He's still short striding in the front even then. After the cantering, he's striding out better, but still coming up short occasionally and head bobbing (not as bad as it was at the 16 second point). At 1:08 when you reverse, he's very lame for a few strides and continues with the occasional 'more' off stride through the remainder of the video.

He appears quite sore/ouchy in the fronts. And I saw him gimp a bit in the back as well (possibly from his pasture ruckus).

That's just me and what I'm seeing though.

Yep thats what I thought I am thinking it is because of his feet. He really does need shoes.

he is head bobing lame in that video, It is showing as his left front but I think it is a hind where your issuse is, He is sore in the hawk on the right hind and the stifle on the left.

His head is bobing up wards as the hinds come down, and he is REALLY stiff in the neck with his back inverted, which is hididng alot of the clinincal signes, he also is not sure shich hind herts more so is not consitent.
he will not want to move forward under a rider, will proboly fight contact and will not come on the bit.

time for a chiroprator, maybe a vet, and maybe a change in how his feet are trimed

These 2 videos are yesterday before the big fight. He doesnt really look to be off here and he didnt feel off either. I did feel him stumble a few times but nothing big. The second video isnt the best as my sister was trying to film while she was riding.

I agree he is lame! What I see most, and 100% through the entire video is that he has a stabby motion with his left hind at the end of the stride where that foot starts to come down. Also note that he starts cross firing in canter so he doesn't have to use that left hind.

I had a pinto draft cross in training how moved very simelarily (why does that word jsut not look right no matter how I spell it???) to this horse. For him when I saw that stabbing hind foot, it was time for a chiro to come out. The next day after the chiro was out, he was like a new man!

I'm not convinced that he needs shoes....the footing in that round pen doesn't look super hard. I'd try chiro before shoes, but at the same time I'm close with my farrier, I would ask him when he was out to trim him and see what he thought too.

Have you tried carrying a whip? If he isn't listening to your leg then you HAVE to reinforce it and make him understand that he needs to listen to it, and the quicker the better.

Although I can understand him not wanting to go because his feet may be sore. Get the shoes on and then see what you can do.
