I have always loved your horse .

The first thing I notice in your eq is your arched back, try to sit more on your pockets and deeeeep in your seat. I've been getting over the arched-back-syndrom too, and realized it was all because I was riding on my crotch.

What I notice first in him is his head. In the third picture it looks great, beautiful topline and his nose is sticking out just a tad. In some of the others I noticed he is bending at a vertebrae, not his poll, and he could stick his nose out.

I'm not usually one to critique but I'll put in my two cents: to me you look like you're trying too hard. I think if you relax and stop thinking so much it will just fall into place. If you are braced in your body, your horse is going to do the same-brace. I agree with everyone else when they say dropping your stirrups looks to be your major problem. Try that and see what you come up with!

Beautiful horse though, great job with him!!

When I was teaching my daughter to ride, she had a lot of the same habits as you do. After she mounted, I had her stand in the stirrups, tuck her butt and then sit down. As far as squaring up her shoulders, I had her hold her right hand almost even with the left hand, as if she was using both hands on the reins. That helped her to square herself and get centered in the seat. I do agree with the others, you should try lowering the stirrups and see if that gets a little more of your center of gravity in the seat. I hope this helps. It sure helped her a lot.
