I can't imagine that he's OMG!!!! ribby as we can't see the ribs in the photo.

With his conditions, he really will benefit from being slightly thin (think 4.5 bcs).

The thing is, Once I get the rest of that hair off. You will be able to see ribs. And that is something I am just not use to. I sure don't want him overweight, but I don't want him under either. And I don't know what else to feed him to put some back on

At a 4.5 you will be able to see ribs, pretty easily.

I don't think that he's under a 4.5, though as you said, there's still some hair on there that could be hiding things. How prominent are his vertebrea?

Nothing is seriously showing on him. Like I don't think anyone could call and say he is being starved. But then again I have read horror stories here. I just don't like seeing the ribs as much as I do. He has had that big Cushings coat since I got him so I didn't realize how thin he actually was under there. I would like to put a little more weight on but then again he won't eat very many things.

If he were OMG RIBS thin, I think we'd have a much better view of his spine and his hip protrusions than we do, even given the hair.

Put your hands on his sides. How easily can you feel ribs?

He doesnt look too skinny to me but you obviously know your horse better than I do. How old is he? A lot of horses get skinnier w/ age. If you want to put some more weight on him i would suggest a 1/2 cup of corn oil once a day w/ his grain. Talk to your vet if you are really worried about it. From the looks of him it doesnt look too severe but it cant hurt just to be safe and call the vet. I hope this helped Cute pony!
