Arrow I'm back from bike riding across Iowa!

Well guys, I'm pleased to say I did it! If you hadn't noticed, I've been gone for the last week on RAGBRAI: Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. It's a seven day bike ride with aproximately 10,000 riders going across the state of Iowa! It was my first time doing it (it's an annual event, this year was the 33rd time) and although extremely challenging, it was also incredibly fun and rewarding, espeically at the end. I do have to say that on a few days I felt like I was about to die from hills or long distances (one day was 84 miles long in the heat!) and camping was pretty interesting too. On one night, there was even a terrible storm in our overnight town with winds up to 80 mph! Luckily, my team was able to spend the night in a gymnasium indoors (although our tent was completely destroyed), however one rider was unfortunately killed in the storm when I branch fell on him in his tent!

Overall though, I had a wonderful time and will truly never forget that experience! The towns I explored and all the new people I met were simply amazing! I should have pictures up tonight or tomorrow, but I had to share now and let everyone know too that I survived (barely! ).

Thanks guys! I'm surprised anyone replied actually.

Yes, it was very sad about that guy dying. It kind of hit hard too, because our tent was right under a large tree as well so it could have happened to us just as easily!

I did gain some muscle, or at least I better have with how sore I am now!!
