I'm a Noob :)

Hi there horsepeople!

I'm a newbie to this apparently active forum. I was nudged over here from a link one of my group's members posted for the "motivational poster" contest, and so far I'm having fun looking at and submitting pictures. I love photography, though it's just a hobby, not a career.

Anyway, 'nough 'bout that, I've a few horses, two being my personal riding horses, and a mini, on our small farm. I've a 20 year old standardbred mare and a 6 year old appy draft cross mare, and a little silver bay miniature stud who will have "brain surgery" done to change his status to gelding in the fall. Looking forward to poking around your site and enjoying time here.

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I love contests, so I'm attracted like a moth to a flame

And as for pictures, well, what kind of horsewoman would I be if I didn't have a plethora**?

** = really really lot!

My 20 year old, Marie (Rhythm Almahurst). She won 33 races, and is mommy to last year's most winningest horse in North America, "Born Lucky". But around here, I just spoil the Princess.

Atop the lookout in Ganaraska Forest, Ontario

Hanging out in the backyard

My 6 year old Pepper is the appy belgian draft cross. She's a red roan. She's recovering from a shoulder injury, so it's light riding while the muscles rebuild. She's the "Queen" though.

Little Tyke is my mini boy. He's a silver bay with two blue eyes. He's the one I'm looking for a harness for. We picked up some cows at a barn where the ownership changed and they just wanted them gone. The new owner told us to take the mini too so we did. We got him about a month ago, and it's very hot up here right now so it's a bad time to geld him. By his teeth we think he's around 15 years old. In hand, I pop him over jumps up to a foot high and can take him through an obsticle course. I've also hooked him up with a surcingle and ground drove him, so he's got skills. I just have to discover what kind

And last but never least, this is Hour, one of my racehorses. He's a graded stakes winner and a big sweetheart, even when he's all racing fit.
