ideas needed for Christmas parade theme for horse

This year our town parade is having a costume contest during the parade for the horses. It has to fit in with this years theme which is "Blue Christmas"

Anyways, anyone have any ideas for horse and rider both for this theme? We are thinking Elvis, horse or us, Smurfs etc but don't really know what yet.

Any ideas or pics would be greatly appreciated!

Battery powered blue twinkle lights, with blue riding dress, and blue shimmery cloth over saddle, blue glitter on hooves, and blue garland, ribbons in hair and mane and tail. Blue Fairyland effect.

Is it going to be cold there? Could do Blue Cookie Monster, fuzzy suit over tights.

Or Blue Christmas is a sad song, could you do teardrop pattern on horse with non toxic paints, kind of stained glass effect in blues and silvers? And you dressed in blue tights and leotard with same tears painted on fabric?
Paint "Missing you" on horse.

Could do military Blue Christmas theme, with pictures of servicemen overseas from area. Have to get screenprints of them on fabric to make rump cloth with.
