NetPosse.com Stolen Horse Alerts for Stolen/Missing Horses and more ...
A stolen horse could be a long distance in a short time period. Please pass this to your associations, list groups, council members, friends and ask them to do the same. If you put information on your website please link the info to NetPosse.com. SHI will be updating information and has the only flyer ready to print and post for those who want to help. The Internet is great for spreading the word but success stories show that most horse are found from a flyer. I'll ask the lady that runs the tack shop at my barn if I can post this up there. We're pretty close to Martinsville, so i'll keep my eyes open.

It is very sad and I really hope that someone on here knows where the horse is OR posts a few flyers and all, they czan post them up at an auction house. horses when stolen cn move fast or slow, the main reason they are stolen is for he one stealing them to make money at a auction house or private killer buyer.

I'm gonna look into this, because I think I've seen the horse.

There's a new one that arrived down the road not too long ago, and based on that picture, it looks just like her.

Thank you Matt for sending me this coverage. Without you I often would not know the fruits of SHI's labor.

Press releases were sent to every news media contact to help the Jack and Alisa obtain much needed press coverage. Here is the result of one of those press releases. WISH-TV called here and was to contact them also. I have not heard anything from that since talking with the reporter. -- Debi

Couple search for stolen horse

By Hannah Lodge
hlodge@reportert.com

Sunday October 29, 2006

Jack and Alisa Neal are searching for their horse, “Dilly” Weed’s Dialette, after she was stolen from their pasture.
Dilly, a chestnut Appaloosa mare, went missing from the pasture, which is surrounded by an electric fence, after a neighbor saw two men and two women load her into a white trailer near the Neals’ home at the intersection of Ind. 37 and Turkey Track Road.
Alisa said her husband has owned the horse for 18 years, and her children are upset by her disappearance.
“Lately, we put the kids up there; they love to pick grass and feed her and talk to her,” she said.
She said she has no idea how or why the horse was taken, but she’s doing everything in her power to get her back.
“That’s what bothers me,” she said. “I don’t know. We don’t know if they were just driving county roads looking for horses that would be an easy take, if they had staked the property out; we don’t know.”
The Neals have contacted the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and posted a listing on Relocate, a stolen horse identification Web site. They have also printed fliers and contacted multiple news agencies in Indianapolis.
“(We’re) giving them out to anybody and everybody, just hoping the right person will see and know something,” Alisa said.
Dilly is 21 years old, between 15 and 16 hands, and chestnut in color. She has a white star and stripe on her forehead and looks like a quarter horse, Alisa said.
“She has a very distinctive dent on the left side of her neck. That will identify her beyond a shadow of a doubt,” she said.
Alisa said this is not the first time a horse in Morgan County has been stolen. She said that on June 26, a horse was taken from Dean Messmer and returned two months later.
“We didn’t know about this going on until it happened to us,” she said. “People just need to be aware.”

That is absoloutly terrible! I don't even know what I would do If my baby was stolen. I will be praying for her safe return. It really makes me more aware of how things can happen even when you least expect it. After reading this, we will be getting a padlock for our driveways front gate. No horse theifs are getting in here! I am also going to be microchipping all of my horses next vet visit and I am filling out a regestery application compleate with recent photos and descriptions of everybody. Just try to take my horses you theifs!
