As of August, the number of horses reported to SHI in 2005 that have been recovered is 55% … Let’s make it 100%!

NetPosse, Idaho Alerts and SHI do work! Thanks for being a part of reuniting horses and their families.

Also, do not forget about the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and now Rita is bearing down on us again. There have been some success stories for Katrina’s Missing Pets and some unfortunate endings.

SHI volunteers have been extremely busy attempting to locate and coordinate efforts to help misplaced pets and people. Although SHI does not have any manpower in the field, we are trying to help in the best way we know how. Thus, the link: Katrina’s Missing Pets. Please take a few moments every once in a while to view this page as animals are being added from time to time. (Be sure to refresh your browser).

While SHI does not want to take any focus off of the massive rescues being conducted throughout the wake of this horrific tragedy, we want people to remember that thieves do not take holidays … they do not take time off to help those in need … in fact, they will do what they can to exploit people when they are most vulnerable – like now.
