Exclamation Icy is BRED

Well as some of you know, my mare Icy (the one I traded for Daisy) is now bred by her new owners. They do not like Icy at all, and I don't really like Daisy, so we are considering doing a trade back. I am kind of nervous of having a foal. Icy has proven herself as a broodmare before, so that makes me a little lmore at ease. So I'm not sure if I'm going to do a trade back, but I really miss Icy.
ANYWAYS.....If Icy was bred to a champaign and white stallion what would the foal come out as?

Here is Icy: (Registered sorrel tobiano)

Here is the stallion she was bred to:
Coasters Easter Cwboy APHA Cremello Tobiano

I did not breed her. She doesn't have great conformation, and neither does he, but like I said...I didn't do it. So what would they throw?

Hmmm...you'd probably get a palomino tobiano foal.

She's a sorrel and he'd dilute the red base coat colour on the foal. A lot depends on whether she's homozygous for sorrel though.

Take care.

Isn't a sorrel always homozygous for sorrel? That's the only base color they can contribute. She looks Tovero to me. Wish we could see his pattern.

So far she has had one solid dun foal (bred to a solid dun stallion), and two sorrel tobiano foals when bred to sorrel tobiano stallions.

You would most likely get a palamino base since I believe that Champagne is a double dilute if memory is working at all correct.

My question is, if they do not like the mare, why did they breed her

**Edit to state, OK I checked myself, Champagne is NOT a double Dilute, so you MAY get a Palimino but not DEFINATLEY**

First per their website, he's NOT a Champagne, he's a Cremello, so therefore definately a double Dilute and Cremello x Chestnut (sorrelle) is guaranteed to give you a Palamino I'm 90% certain of (not 100% certain as it's hard for my poor pea brain to keep all the color varients straight coming from a breed that does not have dilute genes to contend with )

Second, it is flat out IRRITATING that someone would call him a 'horse sale rescue' and then stand him at stud

You beat me to it... I was coming back to say that after reading their page.

Granted IS, didn't choose this stallion so she is kind of stuck with the results...lets just hope that the daddy makes a good gelding someday.

Oh and breeding a double dilute to a sorrel (chestnut) is 100% palomino...there aren't any other outcomes? (one dilute + one chestnut = palomino)

Is it normal to stand a colt/stallion before they are even broke to ride?

You have 100% chance of getting a palomino. The sire is a cremello and the dam is a chestnut/sorrel. As for the paint pattern you have:

25% chance of a homozygous tobiano
50% chance of a heterozygous tobiano
25% chance of a solid

Personally, if you don't like Daisy and the other owners don't like Icy, I'd trade back...
