Talking I was overdue for a fall anyway.

I had a lesson this morning. It went very well. Great way to kick off the fact that I'm officially done with school!!! *Note to self.. go make threat in OT, and post pictures taken yesterday* lol I rode my little Miss Daisy, as usual. God she's so fun! haha. We went over to a lady's place just across the hay field (that they FINALLY mowed! YAAAAAY!) and jumped some stuff. Did a couple X's, and then went to do the diagonal line. OK.. not so much. lol Came up to the first one fairly under powered. So she stopped, and starting trippin all over it. Then as I start to slide down her neck, ever so slightly, she goes down on one knee. So I half fell off half bailed. lol And no, it didn't help that I have a nasty habit of jump ahead. lol Then I put the spurs on and got a crop. Weeeeelllll... I nearly got launched outta the tack she made such a huge effort.. poor girl! lol She settled down later and was just a total superstar. I would like so much to tell y'all something, but I will keep it a secret until it happens. You can guess all you want, but you're gonna be wrong. hha.

Unfortunately this is all I have from my lesson. Blame my computer, and blame my video camera. I had to record this off the poopy point and shoot we have. Blaaaaahhhh.

On a side note, does anyone know why she doesn't sweat a lot? The first time I rode her she didn't sweat like at all, and it was pretty hot out. She's been sweating more lately, but not enough I guess. So she pants a lot, real hard. So when I was done today, she was still panting a lot when we got back, so I took her for a nice leisurely walk in the shade, and when we headed back I got off, loosened her girth, and walked back with her. It helped a lot, she wasn't panting as much when we got back. It makes me feel bad when she does it. lol

speedyscout, I'm glad you found this thread! I missed it the end of May. I have to say, I wish I could fall in slow motion, instead of the fast version.

Great video, its funny you caught that on tape.

My mom is good for something after all.. Besides the house she gives me, and the food she buys me and......... lol

There is a condition horses can develop which makes it impossible or nearly impossible for them to sweat. (I forget the proper name.) It can be managed but when it is not it can be very dangerous. They do make supplements to encourage sweating, however I have never seen them used so I don't know how they work. Most people I know manage it with evening/early morning turnout, fans, and rinsning.
