Exclamation

I'm lucky my horses hair grows about 1/2 inch each month. If your horses hair is about 4 inches from the tail bone you could maybe braid it a little to help.

I wouldn't. When you do braid up a tail you need to space down and start 3-5" below the end of the bone. If you start braiding right up near the bone you'll end up with a lot of pulled out hairs and an irritated horse rubbin his dock making the tail even worse.

Err, I read this and I have a question; the conditioners, does it matter which type you use? do the conditioners have to be horse conditioners? can they be human conditioner? Just wondering.

Almost any conditioner will work, people or human. I use conditioner made for african american people's hair.

Just one tip- if it's a leave in type don't massage it in thickly on the tailbone. Massage it liberally into the hair hanging down but very, very lightly up on the bone. I left it too gloopy up at the top my first time and the residue made my horse uncomfotable and he rubbed out a huge chunk of his tail.

I have one quick question...how long does it take for the horses tail and mane to grow if you use conditioner in it? I have never really looked at it or measured. DOes anyone know?

Quoting myself....

Regarding manes, thay're all different, but I actually measured Regal's mane friday and using MTG regularly, the section of his mane that was completely rubbed out in mid May is now 12" long.

just take to hart that MTG has caused some horses hair to FALL OUT, it has a warning on it. Mega-Tek Cell rebuilder has no warnings, because there is nothing in it to harm horse or human alike, plus it works really well and smells good, Its the only thing I would use

Thanks. Now I'm going to have to put conditioner in Gyps's tail and mane and measure it after six months...I'll have to do that when I can buy some conditioner though...lol.
