I tried a new saddle but...

no luck! I trialed the wintec all purpose 500 with the interchangeable gullets that is supposed to fit every horse but not mine! My horse is impossible to fit. The wintec was flat and straight on the part of the front of the saddle that goes down the withers to the shoulders. My horse is curvy there and the wintec was just flat. I tried a bunch of saddles at my barn and the one that fit him best was an Intec Flex Rider close contact. Has anyone heard of this or used it? I am terrible at fitting saddles but I had my friend do it and she helped me with a bunch of different saddles and she said her saddle fits him perfectly. From what I saw, I agree as well. I rode in it and it was very comfortable. My horse did not seem to react negatively towards the saddle or anything. Any review for this saddle.. the intec flex rider close contact?

A couple of friend's of my daughter had those saddles as starter saddles. The Intec Flex Rider saddles were sold by State Line Tack but I think they are discontinued. I recall them selling on close out for less than $200. They are pretty similar to the HDR Advantage saddles.

Was the tree size a regular or wide? Hint; look at the metal stirrup bar on the left side of the saddle or under the flap.

it was regular tree size. There is one on e bay for $499. My friend got it used for 500 as well. They are very hard to come by so you are right, they must have been discontinued.

Don't happen to have any pictures do you? I have a feeling that your problem with the wintec was that you had too small of a gullet in it. Which will make it appear like you described.

No, I don't have pics but I tried the gullet the saddle shop said to. I went to Lightning G tack shop, which is actually an affiliate of usedsaddles.com if you have heard of that. My horse just has a very odd-ball shape.
