I Think We're Getting Close Now

For the past few weeks I have been keeping a photo documentary of Penny's progression. Well, when I visited her last Monday, she was acting like a "lazy cow" versus her normal "I'm a hot thoroughbred mare, where's the jump?" She was acting that way even the weekend before this last one as she pranced about the Pollyrich facilities.

I also noticed that she seemed sunken in in her croup. I checked her vulva and it seemed much more enlongated and had a slight opening at the bottom, which is not normal for her since she is a tidy mare when it comes to "down there."

Just to make sure I wasn't just imagining things, I compared the pictures from yesterday to those only six days prior. There is a definite difference in her croup and the prominence of the tailhead. Should I be getting excited pretty soon? As in 7-20 days?

Penny's almost due already? she doesn't look that big in the belly, but then again she is a big mare and they all hold there babies differently.
Time has flown, good luck i hope she has a quick delivery with no dramas, she is a good mummy, and the foal is a healthy one

I'm guessing she will have a Brown/Bay filly, with 1 sock and star.
I'm rather excited too see this baby

I was thinking that, too. Especially since nearly all the other mares where Penny is are HUGE. But, then again, those mares are usually warmbloods with big barrels naturally and have had a few babies already. One belly I saw, regardless of being attached to a 16hh+ mare, seemed to only be two feet above the ground!

Penny is also mostly legs and has always had a small barrel. So the baby may not have all that much room to grow in.

Those two pictures make me giggle since she is in nearly the same position except for the big belly! Eww, it also shows me how her topline has gone to putz. When can she start working again?

Yay! Chrome! It's also exciting since that last baby confirmed Yeager's carrying of the sabino gene that he could have recieved from Mascarpone. Regardless of color, this baby should be pretty fancy and make one **** of an eventer.

However, I must admit, I don't want a bay colt or chestnut filly. ANY other combination is perfectly fine with me.
