I smell like pipe smoke

Why? Because I found a new boarding barn. LOL. Is that random or what?

You guys might have seen my thread complaining about a board increase and that I was planning on moving Regal 40 minutes away because of it.

So then this morning I had an email from a lady I'd lost touch with, she wanted to let me know they'd moved back to the area (15 minutes away) built a brand new barn and indoor arena, and were accepting boarders.

Yipee! I had drinks with her and her hubby tonight then went out to go see the barn. It's so awesome. Nice stalls, perfect footing in the indoor arena, an outdoor arena, and a little trail around the property. All adults, and get this, they have *nice* run-ins in several of the pastures and said they were charging $150 for pasture board. Woot!

I'm so thrilled. I'm definitely moving and hopefully my best riding buddy will too, that would make it totally perfect.

And her husband smokes a pipe. That's why.

When I first met him, he was "the guy at the barn who comes out and smokes a pipe while handgrazing his Lipizzaner." I thought he was the most randomly cool person ever, for that.

Sounds awesome LA, there is nothing better than being happy at your barn, I hope you are as happy as I am, I adore my BO.

( Now how many times does one get to say that, Im sitting here giggling at a sentance only a horse person would "get" )

Woohoo! That's wonderfull. Im also looking at moving barns, it really is trouble. That's really awsome you found one 15 min away thats perfect! Congrats

Hehe, I gotta say... call me crazy, I really like the smell of a pipe, specially when however is smoking it has good tobacco. There is someone in our reenactment group who smokes a pipe. I don't, but I just like the smell.

That is AWESOME!! I'm super happy for you! That would have been such a bummer and inconvenience to have to move him so much farther..and costly with gas prices (though they've gone down here).

It sounds like a really great place with very friendly and kind people.

Smoking isn't cool, no...but pipes are. Maybe I'll just get one to walk around with
