I rode Sunny today....

It was wonderful! He has been much perkier and despite my wanting to hold off I decided that I would give him a try. He has been a bit depressed and always perked up on the longe line and I think he just likes to be worked.

We stayed in the pasture and I didn't have to have any contact with his mouth at all, he responded to my seat and leg and a verbal whoa (on a dime no less).

He was so happy to work and had his twinkle back big time. Since he is so thin I double padded him and our new Cook fit perfectly (thank you again Peggy!). I only rode him for about a half hour but what a relaxing half hour.

I will get pictures when I take him out tomorrow.

It's such a wonderful feeling when everything's in sync between you and your horse, isn't it? Glad you had a good ride.

It was kind of a last minute decision to ride him. We took Pauly out of the field to ride him and it was really windy here and he was dancing all over the place and I decided against it as we was quite full of himself.

Of course, you guys have seen pics of me on Pauly so I didn't bring the camera out but I do plan on going out on Sunny again tomorrow so pics will be forthcoming.

I just can't get over what a good boy he was and I think we have an instant bond as my husband can't get him in for dinner and he sees me and literally comes galloping across the field for din din but always stops for his pets and pats before going into his stall. I spent some time last evening in his stall with no lights on and just petting and talking to him and he seems to be very appreciative of the human contact. I can't imagine what he has been through in his past life, it makes me wonder.

I have to say that I LOVE that saddle and hubby too and I may have to buy one just like it for me!

No, but I have to say that she is coming around, perhaps feeling like she better shape up or get replaced!
