I rescued 2 more Monday night at the Auction!!!

Well, as the title says, I got 2 more horses at the auction Monday night. One is a 30 year old Appy mare that is really skinny, and so sway back it isn't funny. But, she's very sweet and gentle.

The other is a 5 mos old Belgian cross filly. She came from the BAYER plant here and was a "Serum Colt". She hasn't had alot of handling, but is very curious and seems to be reasonably trusting of people.

NOW, I have a question.

Does ANYONE know what kind of serum the BAYER plant makes from those colts blood??????

I will try to get pics put on here soon of them.

Snake Anti-venom I believe is what Bayer uses for "human" side of things

But various vaccine testing for horses as well, drug testing, research studies, etc for actual HORSE use as Bayer does have "equine" products out.

or are partnered with other companies.

But if it is Serum...I can bet it is anti-venom production.

The serum could have been used for many types of research/testing.

See this link of what you get when you google Bayer Pharmaceuticals and horse serum donor.

If I remember right, many vaccines have a horse serum base. Good for you for the rescue! Can't wait to see the pics!

LOL The filly has the absolute most beautiful colors in her coat! Black, Brown, White, Gray, Blue and Red! Hopefully, she will keep those colors, but I'd doubt it since she is so young, and they have a tendency to change thier color as they grow. Her mane and tail are black with gray top hairs!

Thank You for the info on the serum question 3WishesDun and BW!!! I never knew they made anti venom serum out of horses blood.
