I really need your help, i have to make a decision TODAY!!

Hey guys, i have found a cheap pony that i want to buy and train and then sell on to some young girl or boy to have fun on!! If you want to read the full story, i have a thread in General Horse Chat, which explains my messy situation.

I went to look at this pony last night, and it was a stubborn little brat, but i really had fun riding it and it was quite sweet natured, even though it kicks out when you try to mount, pigroots and tries to buck when you ask for canter, and doesnt have very good brakes (hard in the mouth), it just needs to be trained, and spruced up a bit. Its extremely fat, to the point where it looks pregnant, and its back is really dippy, which has put me off, and after seeing the pic of its back, my sister said i really shouldnt bother.

Do you think i should get it?? The reason i want it is to have a bit of fun, train it, sell it trained up, and make a small profit out of it. Would someone buy it with its back like that?

Its 12hh, apparantly 12 years old (But my family thinks it looks really old, like 19 or something) welsh mountain x arab, and its only Australian $400. (Pretty cheap really)

Please give me the best possible criticism, because i really dont want to buy this pony only to find its terribly old, or cannot be ridden because of its back. Should i get this pony, or hold off and wait for another one to come along?

Thanks so much guys, tell me everything your thinking!!

Yeah, i know my riding wasnt that great!! Not to mention how huge i am on her, but im not buying her for myself to ride, just to train and sell. My riding was not what i was concentrating on at the time!!! I just want to know what people think of this horse, wether she will be worth it or not, thanks for your input though!

Looks like a nice good natured pony but definatly over 12. I would say even in it's 20's maybe.

I think his high withers make his back look alot worse than it is, I wouldnt say he was 20+, he still has a young look to his face, his lips dont sag, I would say he is about 12 or so.....

very cute lil pony, but as said, looks into his 20's, horses dont just get swaybacked like that for no reason, it comes with age. he wont be unridable because of his back though. also the fact that you are very large on him since hes so tiny, will not help that at all. you can check their teeth to tell age, theres a big differnece between a 12 and 20 year olds teeth. look it up, there are specific things you can look at to tell (galvains groove for one).

I to think she's over 12 most definately I read that most horses start to get a sway back around 15 yrs. and she's definately got a dip in her back. she's pretty though.
