well first of all this horse is way to small for you. he also is swayed backed witch can lead to back problems in the future. he aslo needs feed and a little more muscle put on him. he looks old too.

Ok guys, i really really appreciate your opinions, but i dont think some of you have understood me correctly. I know i look big on this pony, its not for ME to ride, i am going to teach it some manners and give a young girl or boy the opportunity to have some fun with her. So comments on what i look like on her arent all that necessary, because i am not buying her for me to ride. Since speaking to the owners, her back has always been that way, its not an age thing, the fact that she is over weight also adds to it. And NO not all swaybacks are caused by age, some are born that way so yes you all appear to think she is old, but if she was born with this conformational fault, then would you all still think she was in her twenties when she was only five? I would think not. This pony is terribly quiet and smart, the only thing that has gone wrong is a young girl who hasnt implemented the respect element between pony and rider. That is where i come in, teaching this pony some manners and respect, getting some weight off it, and finding a good home for it. Either that or this little pony will go for dog meat, and i dont care how old or swaybacked he is, i refuse to let that happen. I dont want to make a huge profit, i dont care if i sell the pony for what i paid, this is MY FIRST horse/pony that i will have ever brought just to train and have some fun with then sell on. For that money, the only other thing i will get is something that is unbroken, and i am not ready to tackle that yet. I just want to have a go, have some fun, and above all, help this pony find a really nice home. So thanks heaps for all your 'dont bother' comments, it has only inspired me a great deal more to get this little pony, and PROVE YOU ALL WRONG!!! He he.

And to Circle C, cheap off the track TB's might be a turn on for you, but for me, they are a death sentence. I would rather a stubborn trust pony anyday, than a flighty, hot TB. But thats just my opinion. For my first i think i will stick to a pony.

Im going to look at jackie again tonight, and do a bit or ground work with her, see how she is, and i will decide from there. Thanks all for your opinions, and i dont mean to be rude with my comment, but if all of us are horse lovers, then why shouldnt i give this pony a good chance at life, instead of it being ridden around in a rusty bit, with a girl who lets it get away with everything. Im giving it a go!!

OK, HOLD UP. That was VERY VERY rude of you to post. You asked in the first post for questions and everyone was nice enough to post. You asked for the truth, and if you can't handle the truth, then DON'T post.

You asked if we would pay for that pony, with it's back the way it was. People said NO, and if you want honest opinions you should not have asked. I personally think that it will discourage other people from buying the pony. It is a harder resale value for the pony and that is exactly what people said....

We don't care if you buy it or not, you asked for our opinion, we told you... PERIOD.

As for you saying that we are horse lovers, WHERE in your post did you say this pony had a horrible life? How were we supposed to know that the bit was rusty and that he is being taken care of bad. Just because she lets him get away with things doesn't mean she is abusing him. For jumping on us, that was VERY uncalled for.

I am glad you are getting this pony, I hope you have fun and good luck, but DO NOT sit here and slam us for giving our opinion when YOU asked for it.

Im sorry QH girl, i didnt mean to be rude, i was trying to be somewhat humorous about the whole thing and wasnt trying to hurt anyones feelings, just explaining why i wanted to give the pony a chance, sorry if it didnt come out that way. I guess what i was trying to say is that although there were quite a few comments from people telling me not to bother with her, it has inspired me to get her even more just to give her a go and see what her limits are and give her a good chance at life. I will in no way hurt this pony, and if it means that i am too heavy to ride her then i wont ride her. I just got it out the wrong way i guess. I really didnt mean to hurt anyones feelings with that comment, after that i think the only persons feelings i have hurt is my own. I am really really sorry. I wasnt trying to upset anyone or be rude, and thankyou to everyone who posted, im sorry.

my_cadbury...your post does say I really need your help and thats just what everyone did, they gave "their" opinions on the matter.

If you want to train and sell ponies, great idea but this one will be harder to sell due to the swayback...but by all means if thats what you want to do, do it.

Again in discussed in our PM, I am also sorry if I jumped on you. I have seen time and time again when something was posted and the person who posted just blew up!

I also agree, it is great you want to do this, but don't do it because you want to prove a point to us... It is great if you can re-train this pony BUT you might not make as much as you could a $500 younger pony that you can work with and doesn't have comformation flaws.

As for my opinion, I think you should pass on this one ... BUT keep your eyes open for more out there. Is this the first one you looked at without your sister? I say keep looking, you don't have to get her blessing, but start looking for things that she looks for and develop your own "eye" for them! GOOD LUCK!

I think it would be a great experience for both you and the pony. Her back slides down a lot. She must be comfy bareback.
