![]() | Hi.... my sister has been riding for two years now. her first show is right around the corner and me and her are really excitied. i tell her showing is just for fun but she feels the pressure that she needs to win becasue my first show i got pinned 1st in a class. I tell her repadibly that its just for fun. so she had asked me to go on the internet and look for tips for her. If you have any tips on walk-trot english or websites wereee i can go that would be great. PLease help me with my 9 year old sister. |

| Senior Member+ | My best advice is to remember that showing is for fun and learning, not winning. Also, it might not be the most fun way to look at it, but just because you win a class does not mean that you're good. It just means that you were better than everyone else out there. I'd much rather place last in a class of wonderful riders and have a good ride, than to have an alright ride and place first in a class of riders that do horribly. Take it as a chance to watch the other classes and see if you know what the judge is looking for so you can take it back and apply it to your own riding. |

| Senior Member+ | Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Eat a banana an hour or two before your class. It will calm your nerves and keep you from being as jittery. It works trust me, I don't remember the name of the chemical in it, but oh well. Maybe someone else knows it. |

| Senior Member+ | I think the chemical is potassium.. I know that's what stops your splean from hurting when you run..

| Senior Member+ | When you run, it is a diaphram spasm that causes the pain in your side. Because you can get it on either side. The potassium helps the muscles work properly and prevent cramps all around. At least from what I remember.

![]() | I think I also heard somewhare that mosquitos are more attracted to people who have recently eaten a banna. Not sure on that one though. |
