Post i need help with breeding

ok, i know ive posted several other threads on this stuff but i want to put it all in one. Moderators/admin. feel free to delete the other ones!

Ok,

*Which is safer AI or Live?
*Cost isnt a concern for us if we do breed her but which is cheaper..AI or Live coverage?
*What would you breed a Quarab to?(im looking for a foal that would be a dressage prospect)
*how do i tease my mare without a stallion? can i use a gelding? how would i go about doing that?

thats..any other info would be greatly appreciated.

AI is safer because you do not have the risk of the mare or the stallion getting kicked or bit. AI is also more expensive because you have the cost of shipping and vet bills to do AI. You have a higher sucess rate from AI though. I just bred my 10 year old mare live cover, but that is because it is my stallion I bred her to and I know that he does not have any std's and things like that. Make sure that your mare has a clean culture before you breed her

AI is safer, and probably cheaper. To answer your 3rd question...what to breed your mare to...Im not sure what breed of horse would make a good dressage horse. We raise Quarter Horses, and we always breed Quarter Horse to Quarter Horse...no cross breeds. But that is what we like...Quarter Horses...not half Quarter Half Arab...or anythign like that. Maybe someone else can help you w/ that question. And for your last question about teasing....Im not sure. We personally dont tease our mares....we know when they come into heat...or can judge when they will...after they foal(their foal heat...and thier next full heat). So we take them out to the breeders, and they do all the teasing...breeding, ect.
Good luck.
