I need advice on a couple saddles

Im looking at a couple saddles on ebay. I kno nothing about english saddles so, what do u think of theses? Im NOT spending alota money. I just want something to throw on Cindy and try out. Even If I like it i'tll end up just sitting in the tack room anyway.
I ve heard that the saddle sizes in english are bigger in western?? like I use a 15 western so a 17 english would work?
Im not bidding on anything yet b/c I have to look at the other measurements on cindy.
But for what im looking for are any of theses ok?
Thanks!

My best advice is to buy something older but with good quality rather then new and poor quality/materials. I can promise you from experience and watching other people learn the hard way; you'll be much happier in the long run.

I like the first one you posted....
2nd looks like junk....

17 or 17.5 should be fine.

I agree, buy quality used. You and your horse will be happier in the long run. Here are some I would recommend.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ROSSI-Y-CARUSO-ENGLISH-SADDLE-17-12-A-P-C-C_W0QQitemZ280211873333 - lower quality Argentine, but not bad.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Collegiate-All-P...mZ110236847092
http://cgi.ebay.com/17-Courbette-Pan...mZ150229672509 - Very nice German made saddle.
http://cgi.ebay.com/COUNTY-COMPETITO...mZ160222361796 - I have NO idea why this one is so cheap! County's are AWESOME saddles.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Crump-Prix-de-Sa...mZ200210815157
http://cgi.ebay.com/Beautiful-Barnsb...280043QQihZ018 - Another awesome one at a really low price. These retail over $1,800.
http://cgi.ebay.com/17-5-STUBBEN-SIE...mZ230235822443 - Stubbens are always a good choice!

Yup, you gotta act fast on eBay! Just look for brands like Stubben, Crosby, Courbette, Collegiate, Nice, Crump, Passier, Keiffer, etc. Anything European or better Argentine brands. For synthetics, stick with either Wintec or Thorowgood (Maxam is a line of Thorowgoods).

Good luck saddle shopping!
