[Keerah]

Not many pictures, as I was more focused on not dieing.

So. Story time! Yaay!

Started out dredful. Keerah is very barn sour and I know it. It's a fight and a half to try and get her to go where I want. I was tired of fighting and so I got off. Wrong, I know. But Keerah + Streets with a nice ditch and I do not get along. So we were jigging, backing, head tossing, side stepping and all that in to the street. I got very unsure of myself and got off before I burst into tears.

Courtni looked at me and shook her head. She told me she just won, to get back on, and to set a goal. I got on and stood there for awhile. She told me, In through your nose, and out your mouth. Do not make her move until I was ready. she can wait. She did.

She gave a fight, but I was able to push through and get her passed that spot I've yet to push her to..

she was doing great. We crossed a bridge, and headed up a trail. Courtni looked at me and said, Want to try trotting?

I was a little unsure at first, as Keerah wasn't responding like I wanted, and didn't want to fall again and never want to get back on, but, I did it.

I trotted over and over again, and Keerah did so well. She slowed down when I asked, and stopped when I asked.
It's hunting season, and the gates were SUPPOSED to be open. But of course, they weren't. So we had to take a deer trail around it. Steep hill with some slipping, but we did good. Hit my leg on the tree, nothing big.

here is the good part.

We watched Courtni and Kid and I thought we had it. Keerah normally does well. Well, Keerah thought she was a Gran Prix jumper, and jumpped. I had my eyes closed. I fell. Tuck and Roll! Hit my leg on the horn and have a nice bruise poppin' up. After I dusted myself off and stopped shaking, I hopped back on the gate and got on. We did good. She stood actually quite still for me to get on. We then started to walk and Kid could smell/hear something and was snorting. So cute.

Oh great. Another gate. Courtni took another deer trail and I lol'd. I had Dad try and go passed it on one side with a rock, and had keerah follow. Kinda banged my leg on that, but I was expecting it. We trotted a bit more, and came to the road. We walked back, and A rock hot one of the sewage tubes and freaked Keerah out. But, we kept on goin'!

She wanted to trot so bad, so I let her a little bit to catch up to Kid. Than out of NOWHERE, this HUGE squirrel skurries up this tree and freaks us ALL out. LOL!

I made it home safely and Keerah was nice a sweaty. I brushed her out, cooled her off and gave her a bit of hay, and an extra kick of stradegy since she worked hard for me today. I got pictures and she's got a FEW dry spots, but I'd like people to tell me what you think.

In the process of falling I think, I lost Chris' cell phone, and I feel like complete doody.

I'm uploading the few pictures I have (Towards the end of the ride, and the end) and a video.

I had so much fun, and it was such a confidence booster, and Courtni helped so much. I couldn't thank her enough.

I'm going back up later to give her a massage and let her out to teh big pasture, as she's been cooped up in the 10 acres for awhile. She deserves the full 50 after today!

Sounds like a nightmare - turned- good! Horses can be VERY frustrating, but the rewards are just.... AMAZING! Keep going and hang in there..... Glad to hear the ride ended up good!

Thanks guys! That's okay! I was so much better after I got the fall done and over with. Only my third fall off of Keerah, and only the second where I thought I was going to die. I didn't know where Keerah was, and didn't know if she was going to land on me.

I found another bruise, so we're up to two now! Haha. I was a funny fall though, really. Tucked, Rolled, and sprung back up. My legs were telling me to sit back down, but I didn't want to stand there very long. so I hopped back on after my legs stopped shaking, but,

All in all, it was a pleasure, and I even got a good sweat!

You did great!! I know how it feels to be a little scared. i rode today and my horse started ******** out around other new horses and I got kinda nervous.
it kinda sounds like she needed a little bit of a wet saddle blanket. Hopefully now she will be a lot better!!

Thank you! I'm hoping that saddle fit well, and she seems to do so good with it on. It was comfortable right up until he fall, as I have this HUGE bruise right on my inner upper theigh from my leg hitting the horn in my fall.

But man oh man! I know my girl will be sore tomorrow, too. She was gruntin' on the way home, and I could tell she was tired. Haha. She had her roll. (Took off half way untacked!) In her bridle. Little peeved about that, but I'm glad she wasn't hurt. Darn girl bein' a butt. Lol

Nice Massage and break tomorrow. I'm feelin' it, I know she will be. She's out of shape just like I am. Haha.

glad you survived,I am sure the more you ride the better she will do.what an eventful ride for you,hope you use a helmet when you ride.
