Your Dished profile remark. Arabians are "Mustangs in thier own land"
So to speak. There suppose to have a slighty dished face "Jibbah" but with "Halter" they have changed it so drastically that it just looks unnatural. They also stretch the necks so far that the windpipe doesnt take in as much air, thier backs are thinner, thier legs are daintier and they just dont make good overall riding horses.

I have to disagree with a couple of things.
The extreme head of the Arabian has always been prized and, in my opinion, it was the popularity and introduction of the Polish bloodlines that changed the head of the breed.
When *Bask was brought by Lasma and became as popular a stallion as he did, a lot of people went to Poland in search of more of his breeding and bloodlines. I have boxes of old Arabian Horse World magazines full of letters to the editor of people complaining about how the breed had lost it's beautiful dished head and how the breed had become flooded with the big headed, long, straight profiled horses resembling Saddlebreds instead of looking like Arabians.

The Arabian stallion Dreamazon had one of the most extreme and beautiful heads I had ever seen in the breed and many people wanted a head just like his on their Arabian back then and even now days.
Every now and then another horse is born with a head that looks so very typy that it looks sculpted by and artist ...while some people might not care for this exotic a head...there are just as many...if not more, people all over the world who do prize it....this type of head is a BIG part of the Arabian TYPE.

Now as for the neck of the Arabian in halter...
In all honesty, the pose is a trained position and simply enhances the horse's conformation. The windpipe of the Arabian is in no way affected by this pose and besides, I do not know of any Arabian that actually works undersaddle or in harness standing up and posed as in a halter class.
The cheek bones of the Arabian horse spread wide apart at the throat, often between five or six inches, enabling the muzzle to be drawn in without compressing the windpipe, and permitting the animal to breathe easily when running. With the neck extended the windpipe would have even more room to take in air!
Also.....
There are many halter champions that are also performance champions....and on a NATIONAL's level too.

Oh, I didn't know my horses didn't make good riding horses...I will have to remember that one...lol.

To each their own opinion, but I like my horses just fine.
