Why don't you just post all your mares info so that people have an idea what she is. Some good conformation pictures will help alot. What do you want to do with the foal?

one thing you have to realize, the foal may not come out like momma. May come out the devil's own creation! With so many horses needing homes, you would be honestly better off finding one already born, needing a home. Bringing a foal into the world takes one more home away from an already born foal.

BW is right. Unless you are breeding to improve the breed, you would probably be better off buying a foal that needs a home. Growing up all I ever wanted was to have a foal of my own. Luckily my parents were smart enough to not let that happen. Now that I am older and have done some learning, I am happy to rescue foals that need homes. You van buy one a lot cheaper than you can raise one of your own. As for the pictures, clear pictures of her standing square from both sides, the back and the front. She needs to be on level solid ground and not be obstructed by anything such as a saddle.

Dressage/Hunter/Jumper really leaves it wide open. Do you want the foal to be registered? Is she registered? Colorwise, chestnut will allow you to go a lot of different ways with color.

look for the best conformation for the disipline you want to use the baby for, or what you hope the baby will be used for. You still want to make sure that the stud has good legs and feet. Temperment is actually heavily influenced by the mother, so really what you are getting out of a stallion is conformation and athletic ability.

In a scientific study, lower leg/hoof (knee and down) conformation was shown to be not heritable. Environment and hoof care play too much a role on the leg development to isolate any genetic factors. You won't necessarily inherit one thing or the other from the mare or stallion without knowing their genetic backgrounds. The most heritable traits were jumping ability and the trot gait.

so i need to know specifically what you guy would like to know about her. i really wont have ALOT of information until the first of march. she is a registered sport horse and registered anglo arab. she has "great bloodlines" is what i am told. her dad was grandson to some famous thoroughbred. i can try to get her pedigree for everyone by March 1st. so you need conformation shots. i have some photos right now but i dont know if they will hellp much. i will try to get some today. if you would like to look in my gallery there are some pictures in there. what else do you guys need that i can get when i go out to see her today?
