Arrow I have a color question!

I am thinking about breeding my chestnut mare with a Belgian stud. Would that give me a chestnut baby? I can't remember if a Belgian's color is considered chesnut or not. Thanks for your help!

I beleive that belgians are chestnut. Flaxen chestnut I beleive. Either way your foal will be chestnut.

Chestnut to Chestnut always equal's Chestnut. .. That's why Belgian's are to this day predominantly Chestnut. Because they have bred out Bay and Black as these became less popular than these pretty "palomino" looking horses. I would of stuck with Bay if it were me. The stud you are breeding to is most likely Chestnut, no matter how mealy his face is or how much pangare he has going on, or how blonde or non blonde his mane and tail are.
