"CS Training Coined here lol 'training for those who were born with it (CS)' for the mere cost of your attention you too could be the proud owner of CS. Not for the faint of heart or small of mind. more in your face then the air you breath." LOL how's that for an add? LOL

Not a bad ad at all but I was thinking something more like this... "CS... The one TRUE training method that ALWAYS works, gauranteed 100%, but almost NO ONE can master!" For only the cost of keeping an open mind and shutting your mouth, you too can learn this age old secret handed down from generation to generation in years gone by, but seldome remembered in today's society.... For a refresher course in the ability to master the CS method of training, check your ego at the door, your preconceived notions need to be flushed and allow yourself to try new things and go with what the horse tells you is working...."

Back that up with a beautiful picture of someone running full bore through the crashing waves and then fade into a photo of a horse and rider riding through the stunning backdrop of the Cascade Mountains and VOILA you have an ad to be the envy of all new comers

You send it via one of the spacemen that come and contact your horses regularly to cause them to have issues to begin with that cause you to seek out the CS method of training

So those space men come before or after the re-birthing to abduct the horse? Gotta know when I'm supposed to look for them.

(I gotta head in now lol. Have a great night! Thanks for the laugh.)

so with this statement you are implying that ALL the 'discoveries' we have made about horses are flawed? why, that would make all training methods flawed!

the tests they conduct are used to test specific areas of the brain. like in order to find the correct answer to this particular test the subject must be able to use "insert brain function here". it isnt just "hey i know lets stick some feed in a bucket and see what happens!"

and what makes an opinion different to a fact is that a 'fact' has evidence to back it up. an opinion is just an unproven theory! a fact is a proven one

So what is the big deal if a person markets his skill? I really don't understand why it gets under the skin of so many people. (This seems to be the biggest burr under the saddle of the "I hate Natural Horsemanship" camp.)

There's some good horsemen out there that are offering training methods and ideas that are a better deal for the horse. How can they be wrong to make a living doing what they love to do? And all the different ones give us a CHOICE...we ALL like that aspect. And there is the choice to NOT BUY any of the training CD's, books, equipment.

And even though the horsemen are making what appears to be a good living from their skills, think about what it takes for them to do that. Their schedule of travel ALONE would deter most from even trying it. If anyone thinks guys like Clinton Anderson are spending their days wallowing in their money and riding effortlessly across the plains, then that would be completely ignorant. These folks are not only good horsemen they are good businessmen. THAT is to be ENVIED.

I have the good fortune to have RFD TV, so I get to watch most of today's good horsemen do their thing all the time. I am in awe of the emotional and mental maturity and level of preparedness and confidence that it takes for a man or woman to step into an arena and demonstrate training techniques on any horse, any day. And every one of them reports regularly that they continue to learn new things from those horses and their own horses, and the folks who attend their clinics. Not only good trainers and savvy businessfolks, but OPEN MINDED to boot.

It would be very small minded and ignorant of me to pick at their training techniques -- and vehemently suggest they are wrong to do what they do, so successfully day after day. I don't walk in their boots, and certainly do not have any where near the level of expertise that these folks have.
Instead I watch, learn, sift out what works for me and my limitations, and try to give my horses the best deal possible. That is what is important, afterall.

Sigh.
