I use that method with Autumn actually. Actually it's smile, squeeze, kiss, yell. Which means act like you want to go, squeeze a little, kiss at her, then get mad and use spurs/a crop. I also use this method for getting into a trailer or anything else. Just keep increasing cues until they make an effort. Once they make an effort stop, and start with the little taps and work your way up. It works quite well!

Ok I will accept my punishment for making an on topic post

A tree hugging natural horsemanship trained horse. Makes you wish Darwins Theory of evolution was in effect.

Ryan genrich is the type of "trainer" that goes against what everyone else is doing, and can't explain why. He says you have to use a webbed halter instead of a rope halter. But he will put a lariat rope on the nose of a horse to get it attention. Why not use a rope halter? Judy Goodnight (or is it Julie?) turned a lady and her horse loose in an arena with no halter or anything, and told the lady that if the horse looks away, chase it untill it turns back to you. I think the lady was about to die by the time she was able to start catching her horse. They are both off-the-wall trainers that go against what works just so they can say they train horses a "better" way.

I'll put my lowly little trail horse up against your high and mighty show horse any day of the week in a one on one, who has the better horse, battle.
AMEN TO THAT!!! ......... I thought it was you who had the horse booty shot and mooned the thread?? Maybe not......

Trail horses ROCK!!!!!
