There is a lot of really good comments and thought provoking questions that have been brought up on this thread. It's free country. if you don't want to participate in it...ummm don't. But please leave the rest of those who are new, interested, or wanting to discuss it alone. No one is twisting your arm to make you spill your word of wisdom against you will.

As for me I'm a willing, non-hostile, prisoner of this thread and love it...

I don't see the big deal with keeping this thread going... it's not hurting anyone... why does everyone want it to stop?

You gotta love the NH outfits. So authentic, no hype.

Well GaWani Pony Boy is an interesting character.........Uh, but there is really nothing wrong with Pat....he's in a snaffle bridle, a shirt and *****s and Karen Rohlf has the rope hackamore on......what's the big deal? Are we looking for things to nit-pick at?

Ok well for some reason I couldn't write the word I wanted to.....so Pat is wearing chaps, even though technically they aren't chaps.

I guess I am going to throw in my two cents. NH has its place, as do other training methods. Leave the training to the trainers. my only problem is with peopleho have watched a DVD or read a book and think they are an expert on training every horse. I know there are experts in every field who if you have a problem horse can help you. but please, if you dont' have years of experience and a proven track record of helping problem horses, dont' try this at home kids. people can get hurt! horses have a mind of their own, you may be thinking natural horsemanship, they are thinking, get out the bloody way i am going to stamp on you. sometimes horses need discipline.

I'm glad my horse was backed when i got her, i do not envy anyone the job of saddling a horse for the first time. it look terrifying.

I treat my horses like my kids ('cause they are). Kids want to have limits set, so do horses. Kids will test those limits. So will horses. Kids respect a parent who is firm and consistent. Horses respect owners who are firm and consistent. In between, they get showered with praise, hugs and kisses - both kids and horses.

I think natural IS getting after them when they disrespect you...other horses bite or kick each other if the other 'disrespects' them so we should keep the rules that way.
